Networking task
Why is networking good for me personally?
To branch out too professional creatives and gives me the opportunity to begin building relationships giving me better chance off employment or placements after graduation. I can also learn a lot of things from a range of creatives and professionals from all over the world this way as well as discovering some basic ins and outs of the industry. It also gives me the opportunity to find out about different trends in different countries, and look into how different designers working style differs on location.
For what I get out of it is it worth it?
Yes, it doesn't have to be a regular thing just now and again try contact someone who's work you have been inspired by recently. Regular snippets off contact can overall lead to bigger things, looking and preparing ahead is a key thing networking can strengthen.
What can I get out of this?
Advice on there inspirations, there working styles. I can gather other links for other creatives who create similar work to them or who inspire them so they may benefit me as much as it does them (them been my initial "idol"). The opportunity for placements and job offers is the main aim from this.
Am I doing this simply because I'm being asked to?
No I feel it will be beneficial in the long run as apposed to short term where nothing seems to come from it. Persistence is the key to achieving what I want.
What do i think that I am not doing as far as networking?
Missing out on information and advice I couldn't find on this internet, missing out on job opportunities and also finding out about events and shows going on in the art & design world.
Do I think that in this kind of communication, language is a major barrier?
Personally yes, If a main inspiration of yours happens to speak a different language how are you meant to contact them if your knowledge is minimal to none on there language? A lot of professionals speak English though now so your inspiration might be one of them and provide you with some luck.
