Taking Care of Business - Name choice & Location

I emailed john a confirmation of out dedication to the business with a defined name choice of "North by North", he can now go about preparing a schedule for all our pitchs. 

Location choice & Its benefits 

After conversations between Me, Elliot and Joe upon Joe's role of analysis of studios I suggested to look further a field than leeds, I did my foundation at Wakefield college and there was regular exhibitions held by a studio round the corner called The Art House. 

Me, Niel, Joe and Elliot mutually agreed to this location after looking into it and realising there expanding into an old library been renovated into studio space. 

I outlined the benefits of choosing this location to the group which everyone agreed on:

Its directly behind the train station and short walk from the bus station, making it a close point of contact for clients travelling by public transport or from further afield. 

Directly opposite and surrounding the close area are lots of new office spaces, units and restaurant spaces that have began to grow and fill over the past few months giving us perfect opportunity for targeting the clients we want to focus on. Local business's and new business's, this close proximity will help maintain that close contact we wanted with the clients. 

The studio spaces are larger than the simple desk and dividing wall spaces other creative studios offer, they are fully immersed rooms with sinks and large windows offering lots of natural light for a nicer work environment. 

The surrounding studios are taking up by a range of creatives; fine artists, sculptors, photographers, designers, fashion designers, furniture designers to name a few. This diverse community of creatives places our multi disciplinary agency in an ideal and inspiring environment, the close communication with these studios will offer us further influence and inspiration enhancing all our multi disciplinary approaches.

Regular exhibitions held in house and locally at studios and galleries like The Orangery and Wakefield studios offering good external recognition if we had chance to get involved in these showings. 

Name choice & Why

We mutually came up with the name choice "North by North" based on our Northern routes, I came up with a concept that explained the name choice effectively.

While North suggests our routes, the word "by" is used to describe dimensions, or multiples of. This resonates well with our multi disciplinary approach that combine together within the group of 4 of us.
